Karel grew up in Prague where he has enjoyed wonderful opportunities of chamber playing. He left Prague after winning the Concerto Bohemia competition in 2012 as part of the La Follia chamber ensemble.
Karel has received lessons and masterclasses from Ayke Agus, Diamanda La Berge Dramm, Tamsin Waley-Cohen, Oliver Wille and Pavel Fischer. Recently, Karel had the privilege to perform with Garth Knox in his workshop on Violin Spaces.
Alongside his chamber music interests Karel pursues orchestral playing. Notably he was the co-principal second violin in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra performing the Rite of Spring with Mike Seal at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. In addition he has worked with the Welsh National Opera and Orchestra of the Swan during side-by-side orchestral schemes.
